Orchestra Camp

July 7 - 11, 2025, 9:00 am - noon
Tuition $275

The Hunterdon Symphony Orchestra Camp is open to advanced students of orchestral instruments (excluding piano) entering grade 7 through adult. Many adults use the program as a bridge back to ensemble playing, while some are new to their instruments.

The repertoire chosen for the week is the same as that used by professional symphonies worldwide - not simplified or reduced scores.

This year’s repertoire includes: Beethoven Symphony No 5 (first or last movement), Copland Hoe Down, Handel Royal Fireworks, Debussy Claire de Lune, and Mancini Pink Panther.

Students spend five days of sessions, 9:00 am - noon, working in small groups with coaches from Hunterdon Symphony, and together as a full orchestra.

Music is learned and performed in this  5-day period, ensuring a fast-paced, intense working environment.  The week culminates with a concert performed before an audience of family and friends.

Lawrence Kursar conducts the concert, giving students an authentic orchestral playing experience.

The final concert will be Friday, July 11, 7:00 pm at the Clinton Presbyterian Church, Clinton, NJ

Registration Deadline:  June 9.

 â€‹
Music will be available in June, with pick-up dates provided to registered students after June 9.
