Upcoming Concerts

An orchestra performing an outdoor concert in summer.

July 8, 2026

7:30 PM

Deer Path Park, Flemington

Celebrate America!

The Hunterdon Symphony is proud to be your hometown orchestra — and excited to perform at this important Hunterdon County celebration and milestone in American history: the nation’s 250th Anniversary only comes around once!

The concert will feature patriotic and made-in-America pieces from beginning to end, followed by the biggest fireworks display the County has ever seen!

A program of rousing, evocative music includes familiar works by Sousa, Horner, Bernstein, and Copland, among others. You might also hear a movement from Seven Stories of Old Hunterdon, composed by our own Lawrence Kursar.

Come out and celebrate orchestral music, our beautiful county park system, and America! Bring your own chair or blanket and a picnic supper. Arrive early for maximum relaxation on a summer evening, and full enjoyment of the Park’s wide green lawns. Bring the badminton racquets, too. Where else can the kids be exposed to live, classical music without sitting in chairs?

In more ways than one, this concert is FREE!

Francis Scott Key – Star Spangled Banner
Aaron Copland – Variations on a Shaker Melody
Aaron Copland – Hoedown
John Philip Sousa – Semper Fidelis
John Philip Sousa – Thunderer March
Leonard Bernstein – West Side Story
Morton Gould – American Salute
James Horner – Apollo 11
Jay Ungar – Ashokan Farewell
Robert Lowden – Armed Forces Salute
